Family Services

In Home Family Support
Family Services provides teaching and training to adults and children who live with their families.  Trillium provides 1 to 1 staffing with a wide variety of opportunities for growth in the areas of recreation planning, relationship building, community orientation, daily living skills, money management and more.  Trillium's direct care staff are flexible around the consumer's or family's schedule.

Respite Care
Respite care provides a temporary break for families when the primary care giver is away.  Services may be arranged either in or out of the family home as desired.  Trillium also provides respite to individuals in crisis or transition.

Semi-Independent Living Services
This service provides support to help maintain independence and lead quality lives in the community.  Individuals are mentored in key areas of self-determination which include, but are not limited to money management, shopping and meal preparation, health and wellness and establishing community relationships.

Independent Living Skills (ILS) is a service that assists in developing and maintaining community living skills and community integration. Independent Living Skills are provided in the person’s individual home or in the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of things will my staff and I be doing?
You can choose from a wide variety of activities based on your interests.  Activities include hiking, walking the Lake Walk, picnicking, and visiting museums and art galleries.  You and your staff will work on Personal Outcomes which can involve recreational activities, exploring the community, learning to cook and menu plan, learning how to budget, working on personal cares and independent living skills, and much more!

Who pays for the activities and transportation?
Consumers only pay for their own expenses.
Trillium Services will provide transportation and pay for our staff activities.  If you cannot afford to do things that cost money, Trillium will work hard to find free or low-cost activities such as enjoying free access to a local health club to swim and work out.  You will get a copy of our directory of recreational ideas called, "General Attractions" and a list of current "Things to Do"!

How often are the shifts and how long do they last?
That depends on whatever you choose and can vary from week to week.   Some consumers have shifts every day and others only have one shift a week.   A shift can last whatever you and your case manager choose, but Trillium has a minimum requirement of 3 hours.   Respite care shifts can be 24 hours, all day and overnight.

Can I change the shifts or hours whenever I want?
At Trillium, we try to be as flexible as possible!  Once you choose a schedule, we just need a little time to make any changes you request.
